| Avast! (Security Software): |
| These folks produce Anti-Virus and other computer security software. They offer a "Home" version that you can use on one computer (at home, not for commercial use) that's Free (you only need to provide your e-mail address to register). The product is good and offers a [boot time scan] that can clean up some of the worst infections. |
| Trend Micro (Security Software - for Small and Medium-sized Businesses): |
| I have experience with the [Worry-Free Business Security Standard] package. It is intended to be installed on a Windows server with workstations connecting to the server for updates. They have some great flexibility built into the software. First, the "server" install doesn't seem to require a "server" operating system. I haven't tested it this way but it looks like it could be installed on a workstation computer (one that is left on all the time). The server picks up new virus signature files through the internet then the workstations connected to the server get their updates from the server. If the server is down, you can manually request updates at each workstation and they will pull them in through the internet themselves. Log reports and other alerts are indespensible in following issues on your network from one central place (you access the server through a web browser on any workstation (password required)). |
| Note: If you need a license for a number of users that is not offered on the web site the ad leads to, follow the 'find a reseller' link on the Trend Micro web site. A reseller can customize the product offering beyond the more generic offerings on the web. |

Endicia is a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) shipping solution. For a monthly subscription and the purchase of a label printer, you gain the ability to automate your shipping with the USPS.
There are other solutions which may be better suited for office mailing needs but this is the most effective (efficient, low cost) solution I've found for shipping parcels. Delivery Confirmation (tracking number) service is much less expensive when done through an automated service like this. Postage is deducted from your bank account in increments you choose and is used as you ship. The monthly subscription charge typically is charged to a credit card. Some basic automation is possible with their Dazzle software alone (free with the basic subscription). More sophisticated automation is possible with their Galaxy software (free with the [Professional] subscription). Overall their service is reliable and support is good. Like any computer program, theirs requires periodic updates and may have glitches here and there. If you routinely ship packages with the USPS, this likely is a good choice to make. |

| This is the web site hosting service I use for ModestTech.com and for a couple of my clients sites. At this point we're not using too many features but I can say that I've been pleased with their service and pricing and would recommend them. |

| Sausage Maker:
www.sausagemaker.com This is a mail order business I've worked with here in Buffalo. They make many of their products themselves. If you're looking for a dehydrator or any sausage making equipment or supplies, this is a great place to start. |
| Home-Food-Processing.com:
www.home-food-processing.com This web site contains the non-sausage making products from Sausage Maker. The intent here is to offer a broader selection to produce growers and other. The Sausage Maker builds stainless steel dehydrators, a really cool cherry pitter and a cabbage shredder. There is a market between regular home users and restaurants and commercial food processors. This is the target for this web site. It's for homes, caterers, cafeterias, and even small restaurants who need to shred more than one head of cabbage or pit more than a quart of cherries. |

| DCBUYS:
www.dcbuys.com One business I've worked with sells products on Amazon.com. This web site is very bare right now as we're just using the URL and web hosting for e-mail, primarily e-mail ship notifications from the Endicia/Dazzle program. |
